in guest, Caps Lock Light is not activated by the Caps Lock key

I am running Ubunbtu 8.10 as host workstation 6.5.2 with windows 2k and Ubuntu 7.04 guests

Within a guest, the caps lock key works (toggles the state of the keyboard) but does not set the keyboard caps lock indicator light

the light is only set and reflects the state of caps lock on the host.

This can be pretty confusing when switching from host to guest.

This happens also on a home machine withg vmware player 2.5.2

Do you have the VMware Tools installed in your guests?

Hi yes I do.

I just upgraded my guests to use the tools that come with workstation 6.5.2

Also, since running 6.5.2

I do not neeed any longer the horrible workaround of having

a ~/.vmware/config file with

xkeymap.nokeycodeMap = true

whichI needed with 6.5.1
