how to run native XP from Vista host on a SATA drive??

My current configuration Lenovo T61P

One SATA drive 100 GB split into Drive C: 40 GB, Vista (System, Boot, Page File, Active, Primary partition) \ Drive 😧 20 GB, XP Pro (Primary partition) \ Drive E: 33 GB, Data files (Primary partition)

Preliminary Prep:

1. Logged into XP installation and created a 2nd hardware profile named "VMware" and made it a default profile with a 10 sec time out.

2. Logged into Vista, installed VM workstation 6.0 and then started creating a VM for XP Pro with a physical disk, just like shown in the attachment.

when i start the VM i get the below error message.

Operation on file "
.\PhysicalDrive0" failed.

Can someone please help me?

Thanks
