hardware-assist virtualization and physicial memory usage

does workstation6.5 utilize any hardware-assist technology? Also, does the vm use any physicial memory? i find there is a .vmem file which i think it's some kind of memory file for the vm. Would it be even better to use phsicial memory, or don't matter? I used Microsoft VPC and VMWare is new to me.

thanks in advance

Yes. See .

Yes, indeed.

This file contains the memory image of a suspended VM. When a VM is suspended, it does not use any physical memory.
