While trying to upgrade from WS 6.00 to 6.04, I got the following message:
Your kernel was built with "gcc" version "4.2.3", while you are trying to use
"/usr/bin/gcc" version "4.3.1". This configuration is not recommended and
VMware Workstation may crash if you'll continue. Please try to use exactly same
compiler as one used for building your kernel. Do you want to go with compiler
"/usr/bin/gcc" version "4.3.1" anyway?
I choose the default "no" and the install aborted. I remember seeing a command to get around this problem, but don't remember where. How do I do this?
Thx,
feffer
EDIT: SOLVED. Just upgraded my kernel to the newest one and it compiled on the latest gcc. Then vmware would compile too. Still I recall a CL flag to use an earlier gcc version. So if anyone knows it, please post. Thx
