ftp between windows xp and Linux on Vmware in same Laptop

Hi All,

I am trying to ftp between my windows xp to vmware installed linux .i am unable to do the ftp between windows and xp..

however when i doing ftp in Linux i was able to do the loopback

say my linux ip 192.168.X.X when do ftp in the linux i am able to connect to the linux machine,

however when want to do the same in cmd in windows with linux ip i am not able to ftp please help in these..

I think you mean between Windows and Linux??

It would be helpful if you defined the error with specific error messages and such. What can't you do?

What distro of Linux are you running? What host?

What ftp server in the Linux machine?

I run an ftp server (vsftpd) on my Linux host (Ubuntu) and can access it from Windows VM's without trouble, but it had to be configured and the port in the firewall has to be open.
