ethernet0.connectionType = "bridged" ? or ethernet0.connectionType = "nat"

I have been trying for a week or so to get my guast OS (win xp pro) to get online

i had no luck

im trying to see in the .vmx file and find differnt optionsits goota work somethime.. Smiley Sad

so i have an old config that used to work

the only difference is that

in the new config i have

ethernet0.connectionType = "bridged"

ethernet0.vnet = "VMnet0"

and in the old config i have

ethernet0.connectionType = "nat"

ethernet0.vnet = "VMnet8"

i tried copy paste and my VM did not get online i am realy not good with network and new to this software.. can some one help me

i played with the connection setting in the VM (where you have 5 tabs and you can change nat , bridge etc...)

any help is welcome...

i did read here http://sanbarrow.com/vmx/vmx-network.html

with only 1 network adaptor and 1 VM - whats the best way to go ??

Hi

there is no best way to go - it depends.

If your host XP is connected to a router - "bridged" and "nat" should work.

If your host XP connects to the internet directly (using a modem or DSL or ...) "nat" should work.

there is no best way to go - it depends.

If your host XP is connected to a router - "bridged" and "nat" should work.

If your host XP connects to the internet directly (using a modem or DSL or ...) "nat" should work.
