Welcome to the Community,

please close the VM's tab in VMware Workstation (or close VMware Workstation at all) and then verify that there are no .lck files or folders in the VM's directory.

Does the VM start after deleting the .lck files?

Without knowing any details it's hard to say what's causing it. Do you receive any warnings or error messages when this happens?

Best bet would be open a new discussion with this issue and to attach the VM's vmware.log file to your post when this happens. You can attach files using the Advanced Editor (link in the upper right corner of the editor).

I usually cleanly shut down the guest operating systems/VMs.

Hi,

should this occur to someone else with no .lck files, try to delete instead *-ctk.vmdk (or, better, move them 😉 )

Bye

Has the VM ever worked this way, i.e. accessing it over a network share?

Is the first time install this machine, and this machine is connected that network.
I try install in other way.

Thanks,

Cheers
