Guys,
i created a server 2012r2 uefi imae, updated it completely. Started sysprep)oobe and generalize) and did a shutdown .
After that, i copied that machine to a different ocation for my dc1 and dc2. But now i am getting errors:
also noticed that the keyboard isnt working, although the vmware tools are installed(on screen keyboard works btw).
Anyone ho can tell me what i am doing wrong?
Thanks.
The configuration (.vmx) file contains an absolute path to the virtual disk's file.
With VMware Workstation (or at least the VM's tab) closed, change this entry from
scsi0:0.fileName = "F:\Virtual Machines\Template w2012r2\template w2012r2.vmdk"
to
scsi0:0.fileName = "template w2012r2.vmdk"

Please post a complete list of files from the copied VM's folder (i.e. the output of dir *.* /oen).
In addition to this attach the VM's configuration (.vmx) file.

indeed, many thanks, that was the problem. Any idea how this could happen?
This usually happens if you select a location using the Browse button rather then simply accepting/typing the virtual disk's name while creating the VM.

Hi enkidoe,
fine to read that everything sorted out for you.
Let me suggest to instead of copying a VM, try to utilize the Clone menu action for copying VMs. It'll automatically adapt the VM's configuration to the newly created VM target (amend MAC address, merge snapshots, update configuration paths etc.)
Cheers,
