cannot start workstation 7.0

Hi,

My OS is RedHat Server 5.4,I uninstalled workstation 5.5 and installed 7.0 .

When I start workstation 7.0,it shows "unable to start services".Check the attachment for error details.

What can i do?

Hi !

Try to do this at linux console:

vmware-modconfig --console --install-all

You must have linux headers package in your system.

Did you even look in the .log file like the message box stated? Also are you using 7.0.0 or 7.0.1 as you should be using the later for that Host OS.

I am using 7.0.0

thank u for your help,i will read the log file.

I read the log,and i found a error message "failed to complie module vmnet!"

Is that helpful?

HI,

thank you so much.

According to your method,I can start my workstation now.However,there comes another probrem.

I cannot run any virtual machine.

error:"you are running vmare workstation via an incompatible hypervisor.you may not power on a virtual machine untill this hypervisor is diable."

Is that any incompatible beteen my OS and workstation?or something else?

what can i do now?

You can't run VM when XEN enabled.

Remove XEN.

Are you sure if removing Xen will bring any unexpect problem.?

By the way,how can i do to remove Xen?
