I purchased Workstation 16 Pro on 24th October 2022. After I got an email from VMware Customer Connect with offer of free upgrade to Workstation 17 Pro through the Technology Guarantee Program, I promptly upgraded. However, I could find the new keys in my Customer Connect Account as promised by the VMware team. And now, I cannot start my VMs because Workstation Pro 17 keeps asking for a license or trial version.

Your post needs moving to the area for Workstation Pro, I have reported it to the moderators.
Not sure, but did you check whether the existing WS16 license can be upgraded in the portal?
