annoying license dialog box.

I'm runing 5.5.4 workstation on ubuntu. Every time I start "VMware Workstation" application, "Accept/Decline License" dialog box pops-up. After I accept the license, it runs fine, but on the next start it asks me to accept the license again. Is this normal?

VMware Workstation Version: 5.5.4 | 4/26/07 | Build: 44386

Thanks.

You should only be prompted for this the first time you run WS, unless you are logging in each time using a different login account Smiley Wink

No, it's the same account always.

So what could cause this? Does it fail to record the fact that I accepted the license somehow? How can I fix this?

Thanks.

I even tried completely uninstall and install WS again, but the license oddity persisted.

check ~/.vmware and you should have preferences file.

Does the hidden .vmware directory exist and/or does the preferences file exist?

Can you write to the ~/.vmware/preferences file?

Both directory and file exist and writable by myself. I changed the value pref.eula.size in preferences from 5 to 7 and it solved the problem. Now WS doesn't ask to accept the license when I start it.

Thanks!
