After having found it impossible to get the display scaling working in Workstation on Windows 10, I have installed Linux Mint 18.2 as host OS.
This actually allows the guest OS to do scaling as it should.
But, when I go to 'full-screen' in the (also Linux) client, Workstation crashes.
Strangely, when doing the same in VMWare Player, it works fine..
Installed VMWare Tools, and on the host I installed the nvidia drivers (not that it makes any difference, when using the open-source drivers the crash also occurs)
The hardware is a DELL XPS 15 with 4K screen.
Is this already a known issue? I can post the collected dump info, if that is required.
Thanks
Thanks for the posting!
Would you please upload the vmware.log and vmcore*.gz and core files, they are all located in the VM directory (you may get info from Help -> About VMware workstation VM location).
I am sorry for the delayed response, I was away for a while. However, the issue is still there.
I have isolated the part in vmware.log that seems relevant to this event, this is it:
