Hello,
After every reset of a virtual machine, vmware workstation 12.5.7 crash (I'm on Windows 10.0.15063).
I can not take ownership of my vm.
I have to delete all .lck in my vm folder.
It's annoying, I've to do it 20-30 time a day.
Any advices ? :smileyconfused:
scuz my english.
can you please give bit more details?
what is the workstation flavor linux or windows?
what is the Guest OS of the VM?
when this issue started? since the OS installation or recently?
If its recently, can you remember the changes made in the recent past?
Same problem here. It's not isolated to a specific Guest OS either. It's happened to me with Red Hat Enterprise VMs, Windows Server 2012 R2 VMS, WIndows Server 2016 VMs, Windows 7 ultimate VMS, a FreeNAS 8.2 VM, and a FreeSCO router VM,
I'm running Workstation Pro 12.5.7 on Windows 10 Version 1703.
It started for me as soon as I updated from Workstation Pro 12.5.5 to 12.5.7. I'm rolling back to 12.5.5 until this gets fixed.
ok, thanks for the details. since the issue is reproducible its a bug. I would suggest to open a ticket with VMware.
It looks the same as Re: VMware 12.5.5.17738 was crashed
It is a bug of Windows 10 1703. We are actively working with Microsoft to solve the issue. Thanks for your patience!
Awesome. thanks for confirming. I was just about to post suspecting the same.
I rolled back to 12.5.5, and the crashes still happen. so, it indeed appears to be an issue with Window 10 version 1703.
Although, I should add that the issue seems to be intermittent with 12.5.5 on my system, whereas it happens almost all the time with 12.5.7.
