Workstation Pro Nested Virtualization not working for my new Intel 12th gen processor powered laptop

I have previously used VMWare Workstation Pro 15.5.7 and a Windows guest that runs WSL2.  To achieve this I ticked the VM Processor setting - "Virtualize Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI".

This used to work on my old laptop but my new one hangs at the Windows logo.  If I disable that setting - Windows boots successfully but I can't use WSL2 in the guest.

My new laptop has a i7-12850HX processor - is this a bug/regression in VMWare?

Post reported to the moderators, asking them to move it to the area for Workstation Pro.

I am having the same issue with an i7-1265U. Will boot to CD but not to disk.
