***EDIT I couldn't find the right support option before, but have now managed to file a Connect support request. So it would be great if someone here knows how to fix this but please don't spend time on this question otherwise.
I upgraded to Fusion Pro 13. AIUI both the Fusion and WS Pro licences should be OK for up to 3 personal machines. My existing licence was certainly OK on Windows Workstation Pro 16.
Successfully upgraded my Windows Workstation Pro 16 to 17 with the new license key.
Installed Workstation Pro 17 on Ubuntu. Installation seems to have worked fine but when the product asks me to enter a license key, it flags it as invalid. I've checked and double-checked the key itself. The error appears as a small piece of text under the field(s) where you enter the key. I think it just says something like "Invalid License key"
Anyone know what's wrong and how to fix it?
(As background, I had a Mac Fusion Pro 12 licence key which also worked for my Workstation Pro 16 installation on Windows.
AIUI I am supposed to be able to use that licence on 3 machines.
However, I was unable to use Workstation Pro 16 on the version of Ubuntu I am using, VM Player 17 worked fine, so I decided to upgrade to Pro 17. The upgrader wouldn't let me upgrade from Fusion Pro 12 to Workstation Pro 17, which I would have preferred, but I assumed the Fusion key would work for WS Pro as before. It worked fine on WIndows WS Pro 17, but it doesn't work on Linux)
