Workstation Pro 16.2.1 - Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS Host - bridge connection failure.

Hello Everyone.

Please help because i'm fed up with this bug or sth like that.

So mainly on my Ubuntu host PC, bridge connection doesn't work on any VMs i want to use. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING !!

- starting as a root;
- deleting and adding new vmnets with bridge type connections;
- pointed exactly the network adapter i wanted to use in bridge protocol;


and many many different - what i found on internet..............

That's not a rocket science - is there a bug or what in Workstation for Linux or in Ubuntu itself ?

NAT on vmnet 8 works and i have internet connections but i need bridge for my EVE-NG lab.
Internal network on vmnet 1 also works...........

100000000 $ for anyone who could help............................... (joke of course i am too poor 😜 )

I had this happen once. If I remember all I did was uninstall VMware and reinstall it.

Same issue except with Redhat 7.1

I also tried running on a Mint 20.3 host.   Exactly the same issue.

I'm wondering if its in the vmware tools disk.

I experienced the same:

Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS Focal Fossa

The netwroking isn't working in bridge mode

I could solve the problem with selecting the concrete interface here: Edit -> Virtual Network Editor -> Change Settings (as admin) -> Bridged to, and here I selected the proper card 🙂
