I run a number of VMs for my work, all Windows 10 Pro. I'm in the middle of migrating to a new laptop, and one of the VMs will no long sleep - either with the VMWarwe pause button or from Windows Power settings displaying the error:
"Failed to suspend the virtual machine: Internal checkpoint error."
The same VM works fine on my old laptop. Other VMs on the new laptop suspend just fine. I read about the read only possibililty - already checked this. Also read through https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-Workstation-Pro/WS-Pro-15-5-quot-Failed-to-suspend-the-virt... but no joy there.
Suggestions? It would so happen that this is a fairly important VM.
Thanks
And this is why I refuse to upgrade to 17 and debug more of VMware's issues. Maybe VMunaware is a better name for them. I rarely if ever see support comment on anything in CF. Usually it's just a big group hug for sympathy.
I wonder if the free VMPlayer will sleep my VM? Hmmm, have to try that.
And I tried, workstation and player vmx files don't play nicely.
