Workstation License Migration

Hello,

After having completed the upgrade to Ubuntu 20.10 (kernel 5.8.0-38) my Workstation version 15.5.2 does not work anymore.
Update to 15.5.7 does not work either.

Only upgrade to version 16.1.0 works fine; evaluation version of course.

I've purchased an official license at the time of the 15.5.2 installation, but not usable within 16.1.0.
Does VMWare provide any tweak around 15.x version compatible with kernel 5.8 ?

As fyi, rolling-back Kernel version is not an option (for whatever reason indeed).
I don't have time to waste looking for alternative solutions amongst the Web.

If someone has faced same situation, I would be delighted to have advice.

Thank you.

BR,

Hi,

The one thing to try is to use the kernel modules as provided by @mkubecek

See:
