Workstation 9 module name for ethernet

Hi, I have Vmware Workstation 9, running Centos 6.3 x64.

I'm wondering what is the module name for ethernet in Workstation 9 ?

When I run lsmod I don't see a vmxnet or pcnet32

Cat vmware-tools.conf

install pcnet32 /sbin/modprobe -q --ignore-install vmxnet; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install pcnet32 $CMDLINE_OPTS

So can somebody tell me the name of the module for the ethernet card ? Smiley Happy

Thanks.

Do you mean what NIC is used inside the CentOS Guest?  The emulated NIC could be one of several.

I just created a CentOS 64-bit Guest in Workstation 9.0.1 and the emulated nic is the e1000 (as evidenced by the ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000" line in the Guest .vmx configuration file).

According to this KB article, the e1000 is "...An emulated version of the Intel 82545EM Gigabit Ethernet NIC." ( http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1001805 )
