Hello, I just upgraded my computer from Fedora 10 to Fedora 11. I thought I would also take the opportunity to get the new version of Workstation (I was using 6.5.2 before). So I uninstalled 6.5.2, and downloaded the rpm of 6.5.3.
Running the RPM install, things are ok until it reaches the "Configuring..." stage of "Installing VMware Player 6.5.3". It never finishes that step (I waited about an hour the first time). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling again, with the same result.
Next I tried downloading the bundle install, which gave me a GUI, but still hung in the same place.
Is there a place where a log is made of install problems that I can look at on my system? Anyone else have this problem?
I've got kernel 2.6.30.5-43.fc11.i586
Any suggestions would be appreciated,
-Holly Gates
Here's a workaround: VMWare installation hangs when configuring player.
Excellent, that worked fine. Thanks!
