i am pretty new to VMWare so if something doesnt quite make sense thats probably why.

when i try to update VMWare it gets to the part where its uninstalling the previous version and i get the BSOD and it does a memory dump. i have tryed uninstalling the old version first but it does the same thing.

Host System Specs:

O/S: Windows Vista Business

CPU: Intel P4 3.2GHz with HyperThreading

RAM: 2GB of Dual Chanel

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 7800GT 256MB

Sound: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

HDD: 2 80GB SATA on Raid 0

Chipset: Intel D875PBZ

I have all the latest and greatest divers and firmware for everything

i dont have any VMWare Environments setup at the moment.

let me know if you need any more info about my system or anything.

YAY!! i figured it out, i hope, things seem to be working but we'll see.

i ran the workstation5.5.exe installer with the /c switch and it reset all the system settings that vmware makes and it let me run the update
