I'm trying to set up Win 10 Pro guest machine in Win 11 host system.
All seems ok, but the system is not useable due to how slow it is. The mouse cursor is lagging and jumping on the screen and pressing the Win key takes 10 seconds for the menu to pop up, I have not come to the chance to install applications I need to test them as it is unusable.
The host machine is Legion 5 with 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H and 16 GB RAM, for the virtual machine I've tried different things from 2GB to 8GM ram with up to "processor cores" but it does not change responsive of the guest system. In the host, all is quick and snappy.
I saw some threads that Hyper V makes this kind of problem so I tried removing it and turning it off. I tried all methods I can find, but it seems to the always somehow active as at the end Virtualisation Based Security seems to be Running.
Anybody has any idea what to do ?
Do You have installed all drivers for Windows 11 host? Latest graphics card driver? Internal or externall graphics, how much memory it has?
Perhaps some simple benchmark can show bottleneck...
EDIT:
Perhaps simple looking via 2 apps from Sysinternals can help too:
https://learn.microsoft.com/sk-sk/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer
https://learn.microsoft.com/sk-sk/sysinternals/downloads/procmon
try run on both host and guest.
I have the exact same issue as you, did you solve it? I'm still struggling, and I even reinstalled the virtual machine a couple of times, but it is still there
I have the same issue with you, today I think I fixed this by chance. It looks like is a simple fix: After finish installing OS of guest machine, don't do any change of the resolution (mine is very small just like 1024*768), just update the vmware tool (Menu>VM>Update (or install) vmware tool). Then everything comes back normal.
