Workstation 15.5.1 is damn slow on AMD EPYC 7551 32-Core Processor

Hi Guys!

Recently I installed workstation  15.5.1 on windows server 2016. On the workstation I installed Cent OS with 16 GB and 2 CPUs. The entire set up is running on server AMD EPYC 7551 32-Core Processor.

Windows server is running at the normal pace, while the Cent OS is simply horrible.Even during its installation it took me nearly 16 hours. What could be wrong? VMware tools are already installed.

Any help would be  highly appreciated!

Just an idea (assuming you installed a supported CentOS version): try installing another mainstream 'consumer' distro. If it's still slow, then you have either a host problem or a CentOS problem. If it's fast, then the problem is CentOS - specific.

That does seem odd - you've certainly NOT over-provisioned your CPU or RAM resources.  I would first try updating Workstation to the latest build, for any bugfixes and security updates, though.
