[Workstation 14] mouse clicks do not work very shortly after grabbing input

the only way I can click anything is release input, then repeatedly click where I want to

v14 worked fine up until a few weeks ago, my only guess is a Windows update

does not matter what guest OS, tried Win 10, XP, Ubuntu

mouse is a Corsair Harpoon RGB, although I have the exact same problem on another desktop.

my mouse works perfectly in anything that isn't vmware v14, v12 works fine.

Same issue with 14.1.1 on Windows 10 1709. I saw many many people are experiencing the same issue on VMware workstation 14 Pro loses Mouse Focus

God save me... Nobody to solve this problem? I don't have the problem on 12.5.

VMware Workstation 14.1.3 partially fixed the issue. Please add below option in .vmx file to get the fix:

mks.win32.processWin32MouseInput = "TRUE"

However, the fix breaks Drag and drop between host and guest. You can use copy and paste though.
