Workstation 14.1: root works fine, normal user asks for kernel headers

Hi, my VMWare Workstation trial is installed and working fine on my Debian 9 system when I run vmware as root.

But when I run it under my own user, it asks me for the kernel headers. This doesn't make any sense - the kernel modules have already been built and installed, and it works fine under root.

Any idea what might be going on?

Nevermind I got it. The vmware loading script looks for the modules using modprobe, and non privilege users in my system cannot use modprobe. This is a retarded way to do it anyway.
