Workstation 12.5 Unable to Install

Hello,

I'm trying to install Workstation 12.5 on a Windows Server 2008 SP2 machine however I am getting the following error;

"This installation package cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service. You must install a Windows service pack that contains a newer version of the Windows Installer service"

I have searched for a resolution to no avail, the machine has SP2 fully installed and all available updates.

Anyone have any ideas?

Not sure if this will help this exact issue, but have you verified the checksum of the downloaded installation package?  And run the installer As Admin.

Thanks for the reply, I have ensured the package is correct and tried running as admin, no luck.

Installed the same package on a Windows 10 x64 workstation without any hiccups.
