I have a Host OS CentOS 6 based linux distribution. I have installed the VM Workstation 12 with VM guest OS the same.
I have the following problem when I measure the network bandwith between the host os and the guest os give a pure result ~2Gbit/sec. Using the same hardware with ESXi I did the same test, and the bandwith between 2 VMs is around of 40Gbit/sec.
So I guess not the HW CPU/RAM is the bottleneck of the performance.
On the Guest VM when I checked the vNIC device information (ethernet eth0) it return to me the Speed is 10000Mb/s with Full Duplex.
I check if the VMXNET3_CONFED is set to "no".
Somebody have any idea about what could be the problem? And how it need to be tweaked to got the better performance.
