Workstation 10 - Replicated IP Addresses in cloned VMs

Hi All,

I am having trouble with using bridged networking on Workstation10. I installed a VM (by setting up Bridged-networking) with ESXi 5.5 inside Workstation. It came up successfully and the VM got IP address. I, then, made a clone of the virtual machine and powered on both the actual guest and clone and the cloned VM got the same IP address as the parent VM (it was a full clone).

Can somebody please help me this this?

Please check you MAC address of both NIC, i guess you have MAC address and IP address conflict.

If you can reduce the conflict then might be no problems of your virtual network.

Take care!

Thanks for your reply,

I made sure that MAC addresses of both the VMs were different (uniquely generated).. However, the cloned VM is still getting the same IP address..

Moreover, its not a problem only with bridged-networking, its the same if I select Host-only networking for the first VM and clone  it..
