Workstation doesn't have a wireless NIC type, so direct wireless hardware access is not working.

If you want to access network through the host wireless connection, bridging is what you need.

VMware only presents a Wired Ethernet Adapter to a Virtual Machine.  If you want direct access to Wi-Fi from within the Guests OS you need to provide your own USB Wi-Fi Network Adapter and connect it to the Virtual Machine.

HI,

I get to this old thread redirected from a newer one

LAN port for a physical machine, and Wifi adapetr virtual

You could create whatever network interfaces want on VMware Workstation, and "block" each of the virtual to the one physical nic that you want using the "briged to:" combo. At least on my laptop, both wired and wireless interfaces among others (VPN) are shown.

Regards,

Luis.
