Windows NT , Windows 2000 problem in build 80004

Hi,

I have tried to install Windows NT ws and Windows 2000 Prof debug/checked to VMWare WS 6.0.3 build 80004. Host is XP SP2.

Installation always blue screens when the harddisk format is about to start. Sometimes it starts the format but after few % it blue screens.

Is there something I should try? I have already disabled the acceleration in bios and VMWare.

Any help highly appreciated.

Are you sure you're not having hard disk problems ?

have you an antivirus running on your host ? Is yes, disable real time scan and try to install again, otherwise put in the AV exclusion list all VMWare related files and directory and try again.

Win2003 and XP installs in guest without problems. I will try to run manufacturer drive fitness test.

I will try this - thanks. But somehow I am afraid that problem is with VMWare support for these old (discontinued) OSes.
