Windows 7 sleeps but does not wake

I'm running WMware Workstation 7.1.4 Build-385536

I've created a Windows 7 Enterprise VM.  I have switched off the Sleep and Hibernate, but if I leave the VM open for a period of inactivity, it appears to go to sleep.  However I can not resume it.  If I reboot the VM I can log in but it returns to a blank/black screen.

Has anyone got any clues as to what is happening and how I can get it back?  Currently I have to restore to a snapshot.

check your energy saving settings
maybe the screen is turned off after x minutes ?

can you reproduce this and then attach the vmware.log ?

I had the same issue.  Changing power option to High Performance and modifying all the options to never has resolved my issue.
