Windows 2003 Server Installation hangs on VMWare reboot after text mode

Hello All:

Thanks for reading...

I'm attempting to install Windows 2003 Server STD Edition as a guest OS on a Dell Latitude 610. I've got 724 MB of Memory allocated with 4 Gig of HD space to the image. Here's what happens:

1. Created the VMWare image.

2. Start it with the OS CD in CDROM.

3. Successfully boots, partition and copies files over to the HD space. (Text Mode).

4. Prompted for reboot and allow the installation to do so.

5. It reboots, VMWare screen appears and then goes away.

6. It then hangs with this blank, black screen for hours...

I've gone back and modified the setting for the image turning off USB, Floppy, NIC, etc....everything except Video, HD, Memory, and CD.

I've spent the last part of yesterday evening and this morning searching through web and this forums with little, no success. I'd really appreciate any suggestions as to how to successfully do this.

Many thanks,

Eddy

Create an ISO file from your W2K3 CD and install from it.

Search the web for lcisocreator, it's a freeware utility you can use for it.
