Windows 2000 very slow

I don't know when it first started being very slow.

I used VMWare Workstation Pro 15 and it worked pretty well and fast.

But after installing a new version (15.?) it started getting slow, and also on 16 it's extremely slow.

My computer is a DELL Notebook with an I9.

The VM was setup with 2GB RAM and 2 processors. I tried also to set it to 512MB and 1 processor.

No change.

Finally, I installed the VMWare Workstation Pro 16 on a Debian linux and there it performs much faster,

but the computer is quite old and has an I7 and 8GB RAM.

Maybe it has something to do with a Windos update.

Does anyone have an idea, what was changed, that it became that slow?

Hi,

Have a look at the following post, there's a fair chance that your VMs are running under Hyper-V.

Thanks a lot!

That did the trick. Now it's much faster again :-).
