Windows 10 build 1903 - VMware Workstation 12.5.x

Hi all, i have an i7 870 processor and therefore i am forced to use vmware workstation 12.x. Yesterday I wanted to update to the Windows 1903 version and got the error message that the VMware version is no longer supported under 1903. Is it really not possible to start VMware Workstation 12.x under Windows 10 1903 anymore? Has anyone tested this yet?

No, it's not supported and I don't think it'll work. You can't expect to run bleeding-edge operating systems with aged platforms. It generally doesn't work that way.

Is it still not supported that you can run VMware Workstation 15 on an i870? During my research I found an entry in vmx that should still allow me to start VMware Guests - it should be slower, but work. For me the entry doesn't work...I still can't start the VMware Guests. Do you know a workaround or is it just an absolute no go and all I can do is buy new hardware?
