Why was different version of Win7 installed in VM Workstation 8

Hi,

I have just created a new VM and installed Win7 from a Win 7 sp1 x64 Professional download.  The key given was for Win 7 Professional.

The VM has Home Basic installed.

Why isn't it Professional ?

I am very new to VM Workstation, so may have done something wrong, but it did the installation automatically and didn't ask for any OS selection.

TIA

Sue

It seems you were using Easy Install for VM installation. For Easy Install, the Default "Version of Windows to install" is "Windows 7 Home Basic". You need to choose from the list for the version you are about to install. The choices are: Home Basic, Home Prememium, Professional, Ultimate.
