Why is there a *.vmx.lck folder after shutdown ?

I installed and used successfully VmWare WS 6 for a while.

Since a few days now I found a folder called "Windows XP Professional.vmx.lck" in the VM's folder

after a normal shutdown of the VM. Why ?

Inside this *.vmx.lck folder there is one single file called "M29360.lck"

In the past all these temporary folder were removed after the shutdown.

How can I check what exactly is locked resp. not unlocked ?

Matt

This behavior changed.

As long as WS is open and accesses the VM (VM open in a tab) the lock folder stays.
