Where to find description of all settings for .VMX file?

Does this information legally described somewhere?

That PDF is specifically for Configuration Examples and Troubleshooting for VMDirectPath with VMware ESX 4.x and is not really applicable to what the OP is requesting!

Which, by the way, André already provided the link to probably the most comprehensive listing by a third party as VMware, to my knowledge, does not publish a comprehensive listing and description of the contents of the .vmx configuration file.
