What ports are needed for VMs sharing?

Hello,

In my company we have two different networks: Production and Test  and I'm running VMWARE 8 in both of the places.

I'd like to be able from the production network to use the shared VMs in the Test network.

I found out that I need to open these ports:

TCP 443

UDP 902

TCP 902

I arrived to this result a bit empirically Smiley Wink

Do you know if I need to open other ports?

'Client' and 'Server' is Vmware 8 running on Windows 7 64bit.

Thanks in advance & kind regards,

StockTrader - Marco.

Ciao Rocco,

I noticed already the KB article you mentioned but if you do not open 902 TCP/UDP you will be able to connect to the shared VMs but when you are going to turn it on you will not be able to see the screen of the VM and a pop up will warn you that the port 902 is closed.

This is why I opened TCP and UDP 902 as well.

I'm wondering if an official document exists with the list of all the ports we may need to use shared VMs of a VMWARE Workstation 8.

So far I opened 443 tcp and 902 tcp/udp and ''seems'' to work.

Thanks & Regards,

StockTrader - Marco.
