Hello,
My work bought me a license for vmware workstation 5.5 in Dec 06 and the email said that I'm entitled for product updates for a period of 18 months from date of purchase.
I just downloaded, installed workstation 6.0 and entered the same serial number and got a msg saying "The serial number entered did not match any licenses."
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You are entitled updates for WS 5.x and WS 6 is not an update it is a major release.
Since you purchased the product in Dec, you are do not meet eligibility requirements for TGP(Technology Guarantee Program)
The Workstation 5 license key will not work with WS 6.
More information can be found here about your upgrade options.
Thanks KevinG!
This online forum is awesome! It's better than waiting for the vmware sales rep to return my call since Nov '06!!!
I purchased WS 5.5 during the end of April so I believe that I am entitled to 6.0 for free (so it said). Yet I am now getting a message "The serial number entered did not match any licenses." and that my software will expire on 5/29. Any suggestions?
Did you go to the upgrade page and obtain your new serial number for version 6?
The beta serials expire on 29 May, and the RC products expire soon as well.
