WS - unable to eject External HDD

Hi,

Some student are using external HDD in combination with WS10 and after the VM is shutdown, it is impossible to eject their eHDD.

This happens on all the computer we have ( 4 different generation) and we are not even able to kill all the VM related process.

I looked for a solution for the last few days but it seem that I'm uncapable of fiding any solution.

Would any of you have an idea ?

eHDD are BUFFALO MiniStation 3.0 but it also happens with any other eHDD.

PS : Sorry for the poor english.

Are the Virtual Machines shutdown and VMware Workstation closed before trying to eject the external drive?

What is Host OS?

If I was in this situation I would use utilities like Process Explorer and OpenedFilesView to deterring if there are any open directory/file handles on the external drive that might be a factor in why it will not eject.

I'd also make sure that if the external drives were formatted NTFS that System Protection was turned off for the external drive.
