WS 7 major problems

Hi,

Support has aksed me to try WS 7 to overome a problem in 6.5.3 with guests not being locked into memory.

The problem still exists in WS 7.

Furthermore, WS 7 introduces two new serious bugs:

  1. Some USB devices won't connect to guest OS. In my case, my iPhone cannot connect to my Windows XP guest.

  2. Moving the mouse in and out of a guest creates a delay which makes guests difficult to use.

#2 was present in 6.5.2 and earlier. It was fixed in 6.5.3 but the problem returns in WS 7 (not as bad, but bad enough to be very annoying).

It's time to look at Open Source solutions, I think - I'm tired of paying for product and support and not having problems properly fixed.

regards,

RR

So, what host OS and hardware are you using?

Dell SXPS 1340, P9600, 8GB RAM

MCSE/MCSA 2003, MCTS, RHCT

Is that a Linux host ? - on Windows this should be working with 6.5.3 - care to explain in more depth ?

It's 64 bit hardware (a Dell E6500 laptop with 4GB ram).

Running Linux on the host - Ubuntu 9.04.
