WS 15 VMware Workstation unrecoverable error: (vmui) MEM_ALLOC bora\apps\lib\wui\control\cnxHostsComboBox.cpp:428 when creating new vm

Installed WS 15 updating WS 14.  Ran for several days without noticing any problems.  First problem encountered was whenever I tried to change a VM's setting and got VMware Workstation unrecoverable error: (vmui) MEM_ALLOC bora\apps\lib\wui\control\cnxHostsComboBox.cpp:428

Then found the same error when trying to create a New VM.

Attacked log is after reboot and as soon as WS started.

Tried with no success:

   Uninstalling WS 15 and reinstalling

Uninstalling WS 15 and reinstalling WS 14 then 14 had same problem

Uninstalling all MS Visual Studio and reinstalling

Running Windows 10 Pro with latest updates.

Installed RAM 32GB

C: 225GB Free

Any ideas what may be the problem and solution?

Appreciate your reply. Read your link and release notes for WS 7.0.1 then tried disabling real-time protection for AVIRA, my AV, and tested. Got  same error.

Since problem started recently, the Problem always occurs in WS 15 / 14 without any VMs running when try to  create a New VM.  Also, found same error if try to Add Device to existing VM that is not running or  If VM is running happens if try to see VM's Settings.

Hi,

Checked yout ui logs, but couldn't get much details, issue seems to your host specific.

You mentioned that you already done re-installing.

Try below, this is a complete uninstallation of WS.

VMware Knowledge Base

P.S: Before that download and run Microsoft Fix it and try uninstalling using it to Fix any registry issue.

Uninstalled WS15 from Win 10 then followed all manual uninstall steps at link for WS.

Confirmed that all folders, files, and registry entries had been remove.

Rebooted.

Downloaded WS 15.0.0.

Disabled AVIRA  AV Real Time.

Installed WS..

Rebooted.

Started WS.

Tried to create New VM then got same error.

Hmm.

One more thing, why don't you also uninstall AVIRA, AV Real time, I presume that mere disabling won't help.

Uninstalled AVIRA and WS.

Ran MSCONFIG to only Load System Services as I have been doing and rebooted.

Reinstalled WS 15

Same error when trying to create New VM.

Reinstalled AVIRA and set MSCONFIG for normat boot.

Appreciate your suggestions.
