WS 10.0.2 works on Ubuntu 14.10 (Utopic) kernel 3.15.0-2-generic

I was totally surprised when I installed Ubuntu 14.10 kernel 3.15.0-2-generic on my system already patched (Archlinux) for kernel 3.14.  Everything works without recompiling (probably uselessly) WS.  This includes autostarting a shared Windows 8.1 VM

I'd appreciate it if somebody can confirm.

On Ubuntu, VMware is much better in using the in-kernel drivers (vmci and vsock), which don't require recompilation: [Phoronix] VMware Still Trying To Push VMCI, VSOCK For Linux

I have no idea what's the deal with trying to compile the modules on Arch, when the mainlined ones are already even loaded.
