Hi, I downloaded the eval version of VMWare 6.02 workstation and want to install the VMWare Tools. I choose VM | Install Tools but the tools never install. I have to choose VM | Cancel Tools Install. Am I missing the tools install?
It should work... Just make sure the VM has a virtual CD drive.
You can manually install the tools, too. Set the virtual CD to ISO image, point it to C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\windows.iso in the vmware install directory. It should auto run, but if not in the VM you can start the installer manually in the virtual CD drive.
Thanks for the quick response magic-man. The VM was converted from a
machine and has a DVD, but not a virtual one. Any idea how to add that in?

And how do you find a thread number in this forum? It does not appear to be stated anywhere.
Can you give the name of the thread, please?

It works for me now. From Magic Man....

It will do that until tools is installed. Manually install tools.... If you click install tools and nothing happens, browse in explorer in the VM to the virtual CDROM and start it manually (it should be already attached as an image).
