W7 host, WXP guest: Audio issues

Hello,

I have two issues with my VMware Workstation 7 Installation (W7P 64-bit host, WXPP 32-bit guests):

a) The VM is adding many sliders ("name not available") to the hosts audio mixer. Is this normal?

b) I also have a problem with the virtual Sound Blaster in XP. Regardless of the Audio input device selected (via mixer) Windows Audio Recorder records the microphone.

Thanks for any help.

Thomas

Starting with Vista, you can control the volume for each app separately. Since each VM can output audio, you'll see one slider per VM. The "name not available" thing sounds like a bug on our end, but it's normal to see those additional sliders.

FWIW, though I doubt anyone is watching after all this time since the original post, I feel compelled to point out that while I only have one VM, I get multiple sliders added. Seems like one is added nearly every time any program running inside the VM produces audio (each one entitled "Name Not Available").
