Vmware 6 RC does not install on ubuntu

I cannot get the latest vmware Workstation to run on Ubuntu 7.04.

First I tried this:

But the vmware-any-any file returns an error stating the "VMware version 4 is install but this only supports version 2 and 3."

I installed the workstation anyway and it gives me the an error on the vmwareconfig.pl file, as the above links says it it would.

Any ideas?

You'll get better responses asking in the Workstation 6 beta forum.

For what it's worth, you should not need the any-any-update patch for the latest RC build anyway.
