Virtualize a Physical Machine option not showing.

Hello,

I am trying to virtualize a physical server using VMWare Workstation Pro. I was following the instructions online; however, I have an issue. The instructions say to click File>Virtualize a Physical Machine. But this option is not available in my file menu. Please assist. I have the most current version of Workstation Pro 17.

From what I see in the VMware documentation, the option to virtualize a physical machine is not present in Workstation Pro 17. The instructions in the online docs are for Workstation 16.

@Mikero - was this capability removed in Workstation 17? It's not clear from the documentation and not documented one way or the other in the release notes.

An alternative might be to use the vCenter Converter Standalone - which you'll have to download and install it.

Yes, we deprecated the built-in converter with v17. The new Converter team did a great job with the updated standalone version, so we recommend using that.
