Virtual network editor get stuck with Windows 10

Dear All,

I have a problem with the Virtual Network Editor in VMWare 11.1.2.

I am under Windows 10.

I can open it, and add new networks. But when I click on OK or Apply, I have a window which appears telling "updating vmnet2" (for example), and this box remains open for minutes. When it closes (probably a time-out), the tool hasn't done anything.

The problem occurs also at setup time (setup probably call the same tool).

All your help would be highly apppreciated.

Thanks,

Franck

Please check whether this is an UAC (Windows permissions) issue, and start the Virtual Network Editor directly with "Run as Administrator".

Hi André,

Many thanks for your fast answer. Unfortuantely, after switching the UAC off, reboot the machine, it doesn't work better.

I have also tried with vmware workstation 12, and get the same behavior.

I unistalled my antivirus, not better either Smiley Sad

I 've either got this issues, It happened when I upgrade from windows 8.1 to windows 10, after upgrading, everything is ok, but after I reinstall Vmware, I was unable to add Host Virtual Adapter.

But if I install Vmware in brandnew Windows 10, I can easily add Host Virtual Adapter, so confused.

I'm using both Vmware 11 and 12.

Any ideas?

can you rollback to win81 and then do uninstall workstation first, then do upgrade to win10? Or try reinstall win10 ISO image?
