Hi guys,
Is there a way to create a "virtual NIC", so the VMware machine looks as it was a real PC in the LAN, including a DIFFERENT MAC? I know the bridge networking can make the virtual machine look like a real one, but I have some problems when the server detects two identical mac address and tries to assign the IP... (nothing I can do about it).
I'm using a wireless network, dunno if changes anything.
Thanks a lot.

my virtual NICs all have different MAC addresses...
could you post your hosts ifconfig or ipconfig /all?
i am using Workstation 6 as well...

You should never have identical mac address on the host with physical or virtual network adapters.
What is your host OS?
Can you post the output from ifconfig -a or ipconfig /all from your host
Thanks for your replies. I didn't make my self very clear. My apologies...
The MAC \*INSIDE* the virtual machines are different. But for the router, they are all one and the same, so there is no way to tell it what to do with them.
I'm posting the info from the host (Charly), the client (Monch), and what the router sees. The host is a WinXP SP2.

Thanks.
I posted all the info. But I'm using the last 5.5 release...
can you try using a different wireless nic ?
some models have problems with forwarding arbitrary mac adresses and only allow their own mac adress - so this is sort of a hardware problem you have.
take a look at:

http://www.vmware.com/community/thread.jspa?messageID=419332
The MAC address is from the host because you are using a physical wireless network adapter, but the payload contains the MAC address of the VM.
