Using VM Workstation 6.5.1's Map Virtual Disk Utility on a 30 GB virtual IDE disk with four partitions fails when the second, third, or fourth partitions are mapped in read/write mode.
Any of the partitions can be mapped in readonly mode, but only the first one can be mapped in read/write mode.
Has anyone else observed this?
If the emulation is SCSI, will it work?
Thanks for any help.
I just ran into the same problem today on VMWare Workstation 6.5.2: Whenever I select a partition for mapping in read/write mode, only the first partition of that disk is mounted. So, this problem still exists.
Same Problem here.
Any news from vmware?
I have the same problem and found this 18 months old thread unanswered... Kind of makes me think twice if I'm evaluating the right product or if I should go back to VirtualBox...
VMware has a standalone mount tool named the Virtual Disk Development Kit VDDK - as this is newer then what comes with WS 6.5 |I would try that
